Teachers Conservation Institute 2016
For the past few summers, MSG has been able to accompany a group of teachers during the Teachers Conservation Institute.
This July, we followed teachers as they learned depths of information about conserving our land and how to incorporate conservation information into their lessons. We took pictures, shot video, and ran interviews as the teachers participated in the activities.
Teachers were taken to tour logging facilities and tree farms, taught informative games and lessons to apply in their classrooms, and allowed time to ask questions and experience different attempts at conservation. Any teacher is encouraged to attend this week long camp-like event, no matter the subject they teach.
The Institute teaches that conservation can and should be incorporated in every subject. This year’s Institute included a physical education teacher.
MSG was happy to provide service during this event, and the team learned a lot from it. Here’s to next year!
